Job opportunity: Software developer

The MELODIES project is using open data and innovative computing techniques to develop eight new environmental applications and services. We are looking for a talented software developer to help us develop a suite of open-source web-based tools that visualise and process environmental and geospatial data of many different kinds. Salary: £28,982 to £37,768 per annum

Deadline: 21st March 2016 

You will have: 

  • Strong programming skills in JavaScript, HTML and CSS
  • Experience of developing web applications using JSON and Ajax techniques
  • Knowledge of good software engineering practices (e.g. version control and unit testing)
  • The ability to produce high-quality work to deadlines.

Previous experience of open-source geospatial software and/or Linked Data techniques will be considered desirable.
